High Poly Model Design Sheet


Textured High Poly Model

What i'd change: Her face is very flat, it only looked that way after I put the texture on though, Im pretty pleased though considering I haven't touched 3DS Max in about 6 months.
Theres also a patch on her shoulder untextured that seems to have been a mishap with the unwrap but I don't have time to sort that now.

This is the first model I did but I decided it was terrible, so I started from scratch and came up with the one below:

I'm thinking a a mad scientist, who is one of the bad guys in my game idea. As this will be my low poly character, a suit like the one above should be good.

Grey Scale:

I'll vary the darker/lighter parts perhaps once one is chosen.

Outfit Ideas:

Ok so I have to keep in mind my character is a scientist. These are futuristic scientist suits. she will be in the Arctic so I also need to keep that in mind, plus, in the game she needs to be able to move about easily. I have looked at lab coats to get inspiration.
I'll colour these in grey scale for now then the one I choose i'll try out in different colour combinations. These look sketchy now but rendered they'll look nothing like this, i'll try to get it all neat and tidy.

Ive made changes to her face, i'll do her body tomorrow as i'm happy with the face and hair now. I have found a better way to do hair so i'll try that next time.

These look terrible scanned in for some reason, I scanned them too bright I think, they look allot better in my sketchbook, but if I choose any of these they'll look allot better painted.

Some ladiesss




NEXT PROJECT

I've decided not to carry on with my initial project, The Beluga Whale Tale, as it's quite restrictive and I think it could be quite hard. My theme is frozen planet, so I have got to come up with character designs with this in mind.

My new game idea, (which I don't think I was suppose to be thinking about yet but it just came to my head) is a family, consisting of a man woman and child, not sure if its a boy or a girl or what kind of age yet, i'll design some to decide, and I may include a pet dog or cat.
The mum and dad are scientists and as they go out to research a snow storm separates them, so they encounter different labs out in the north pole from past scientific missions, inside will be creatures that have been scientific experiments and scientists who have gone mad in different ways.
I have wrote all the details down in my notebook which I don't have at the minute so i'll update when I get hold of it.
I am also playing with the idea of being able to play as each character, leading to them all meeting up in the end to be rescued.
I was thinking they all could have skills that could be showed in their levels, such as the kid could be stealthy, using vents etc, the mum could be a good climber and the dad good at puzzles etc.

Theres lots to think about yet but so far i'm really happy with my idea so now I just need to design a bunch of different characters to choose as my family.

Im nearly done with the first draft, just need to draw up the Beluga in different positions like it's swimming around. It's being done in Photoshop so i'll make it into a PDF to view it easier once it's done, here's a few example pages from the document so far:
